Back in the days, French fishermen use to come to Iceland for fishing, they had their base in Fáskrúðsfjörður, after few years of fishing, they saw that the conditions outside Iceland for fishing were really hard and therefore they made a hospital, church and a churchyard to be able to serve all the sick, injured and dead French fisherman. Djúpivogur is a small fisherman village in Iceland. It has around 340 inhabitants and around 460 in the county. In Djúpivogur there is quite a lot of wildlife, especially birds. You can find a nice exhibition about the area in Langabúð, there are some exhibitions about local artists and people from the area. You can also drive all the way through the town and go down to the beachside which is very beautiful, there is a pin for it on the map. On the harbor, you can also find an exhibition from a local guy that made eggs from rocks that have been found in the area in the shape of the eggs of all the birds you can find in Djúpivogur.…

Egilsstaðir campsite is a really nice campsite, in the summertime, it is normally full of travellers, both Icelandic and foreigners. Especially if the weather forecast is nice, recommend staying there to socialize with others.…
