Very beautiful waterfall worth the visit. It might fell really small but it's one of the hidden gems. Icelanders and travelers enjoy visiting this waterfall. The area to get to it is on private land and the owner has closed the path to get it to because of people disrespecting it, leaving trash and toilet paper all over. You need to walk for a little bit from the parking to get there. If the area is open when you get there, treat it nicely so that we can all keep coming there and enjoy this beauty.…

Vestmannaeyjar is an island outside of the south coast of Iceland. In Vestmannaeyjar live about 4.300 people. Vestmannaeyjar are around 15 islands outside the south shore of Iceland and only one of them is populated. These islands have been formed by many eruptions. The last eruption on the populated island was in 1973 and lasted for about half a year. The eruption destroyed around 60% of the town and people had to be evacuated from the island. When trying to rescue the town they pumped water from the sea on the lava to cool it down and trying to slow it down. If you have the time to go to visit the Vestmannaeyjar it takes only about 35 minutes with a ferry from Landeyjarhöfn,

Írafoss is a waterfall not so far from the ring road. It's a very beautiful hidden gem. Not many people stop at this place, but I would definitely recommend it. To get a great view go under the little arches close to the waterfall and then you see where the waterfall falls down behind the wall. You will understand when you are there. This waterfall is not even marked on maps, and I had never heard the name of it, when I arrive at the waterfall there was one local there doing a horseriding tour and he told me the name of the waterfall. If it wouldn't have been for him I guess I would have just called it the no-name waterfall…
