At first, cairn where used by travelers in Iceland to know their way home or to mark paths. Laufskálavarða, this place you are in here was believed that if you made a cairn while going past, it would give you good luck for your travel. Today it has become popular to make cairns everywhere and all over, don’t do that, cairns have a purpose and are a part of our history so no need to make more just for fun or pictures. This place definitely doesn’t need more cairns so just enjoy the place and take a picture if you like cairns.
