Just after you drive out of Reykjavík you will find a very nice volcanic area. This area was protected in 1948. The total area is about 2500 hectare. This area is a wonderful outdoor area, the land is very grown and a lot of trees and plants have been planted here in the past years. Perfect for a little walk or simply enjoying the nature while staying in the Reykjavík area.
