Hallormsstaðaskógur is considered to be the largest forest in Iceland, around 740 hectares. The location of this pin is in Atlavík which is the best-known place of the forest and has a really nice campsite. From this place, you can go down to the beach of the lake and if the weather is good you can swim in the lake. From this place, you can also choose various short or long hikes to explore the forest. Definitely a good place to stop for a picnic, next to the road that lies along the forest they even got an ice cream shop.
