One of these hidden pearls next to ring road. It‘s amazingly grown lava canyon. I would say it‘s very important to stop here whatever the weather. You turn to your left if driving east from Reykjavík on road n°1. Then it‘s about 5-10 minutes driving, you will come to a crossroad, one leading to the right uphill and the road you are on goes straight ahead. You can go either of these roads, they will both lead to parkings to look at the canyon. Some like to drive both of them, from belove or down the straight road you can walk up to upper parking. It can be very nice to stop at the lower one and then walk up along the canyon or the other way around. If you are not in the mood for that you can drive to both parking an then only short walks for great photo spots.
