The name of the column basalt formation in Icelandic is Dverghamrar translating to „Dwarf cliffs“. The draw their names from the belief of supernatural beings living in and around these cliffs. It‘s a nice place to stop and stretch on your drive. Very nice and short walk to see the cliff formation.
